Can we import wav file recordings for users’ custom greetings in Exchange 2007 / 2010?

I noticed that I’ve been asked the following question at least 6 times over the last year:

Can we import wav file recordings for users’ custom greetings?

The reason why clients have requested this is usually because they’ve gotten certain mailbox recordings (usually general mailboxes) recorded professionally and would like to reuse the recording when moving away from, say, Unity for voicemail over to Exchange 2007 or 2010.

The answer to this question is “No”.  You can import wav files for the Auto Attendant prompts but not on a per user custom greeting level.

The purpose of this post is so Google will index the text and allow anyone looking for a quick answer to this question will find it through searching.

I've been trying to do this exact thing with Auto-attendant->Voicemail for our receptionist, but when she is not around it goes to voicemail and I REALLY want to import the recorded wave file we had in Unity. Unity worked way better :(
